Welcome to the IPMS South Somerset club's website.
Here you will find out what the So-So modellers have been up to, some useful links and tips and a few photos to get your creative juices flowing.
Check out the TIPS page for an article by one of our founding memebers on how to make you own decals.
We are now meeting at the Speedwell in Crewkerne. See diary page for details.
The club has recently revamped its display gear, and the recent outing at the North Somerset show at the helicopter museum in Weston was the first time all the elements had come together.
The Club
Is designed to provide the region with a vibrant modelling forum for modellers aged 12 to 112.
Its Aims are
1) to attract people of all ages into the world of modelling and to
enable them to develop new skills, interests and friendships;
2) to meet regularly at a venue convenient to all in this region;
3) to forge active links with regional modelling clubs;
4) to exhibit at local, national and international model shows;
5) to visit museums, exhibitions and sites of interest to members;
6) to host guest speakers talking on specialised topics; and
7) to hold regular modelling demonstrations to teach new techniques
Note to Parents
(and Grandparents)
Scale modelling will get your children involved in a fascinating, highly creative and skilful hobby: they’ll spend time in an environment free of computers, TVs and mobile phones!
They’ll learn to focus on tasks, take advice, rise to challenges, develop pride in their new skills and interact positively with people of all ages.
Whilst we very much welcome young people, we respectfully ask that members aged between 12 and 16 are accompanied by a responsible adult
